Calling New Families

Sun Apr 30 Coffee Hour Service
We are delighted to welcome nearly fifteen new families! RE is hosting coffee hour Sunday, April 30th and we invite our new families to serve as a way to continue meeting community members.

The RE Council will provide the snacks. If you are new or newish to the congregation and would like to participate, contact Tracy at cuucwptracy@gmail.com. If you have been around a while, be sure to introduce yourself as you fill your coffee cup and pick up a treat!

Annual Giving Campaign

We have launched our Annual Giving Campaign, with the 2023 theme: Forging Ahead with Excitement and Commitment. Click here to read the canvass letter. Thanks to those who have already returned a pledge!

This year especially, we need everyone’s help. Financial strength, ability to pay competitive wages, and an involved, active membership are key to attracting quality ministerial candidates. Forms are available in the lobby and on our website at www.cucwp.org/giving. If you can, we ask that you increase your pledge at least 6.5-7% to match inflation. Contact: Chris Kortlandt (treasurercuucwp@gmail.com).

RE Update
May 21 Community Forum

We are in a time of transition at CUUC, including in Religious Exploration (RE). Please join us Sunday, May 21st after worship for a community forum to expand the conversation about the future of RE with our greater CUUC community. Come listen and share your thoughts and vision for the future. Your participation is important! You can read about our changing context and upcoming plans here, and stay tuned for more soon.

CUUC Community

Read All About It!

We have a vibrant community with exciting events and opportunities. I pull some announcements from the e-Communitarian to highlight here each week but there is so much more! This week in the e-Comm, find out about the launch of our Annual Giving Campaign, which sustains the ministries of this congregation; read about

the 10 candidates for our Ministerial Search Committee and when to cast your vote; learn about CUUC leadership opportunities; and find resources to follow the Article II discussions, which focus on updating our UUA Bylaws, including the Principles.

You don't want to miss events like the upcoming Spring Choral Concert with music from Disney classics (fun for children of all ages!), game night for all ages, CUUC tag sale, Birding for Life with Rev. LoraKim, the next Odyssey speaker, and Science and Spirituality discussions,

There are also links to share images and memories for Rev. Meredith's retirement celebration, donate flowers for the chancel display, and make your offering or donate to our Share the Plate. And, you can attend community events held in our building like the Walkabout Clearwater Coffeehouse and New Westchester Symphony Orchestra spring concert.

And, there's a weekly calendar with a link to the full calendar, as well as all of the Zoom logins! Check your email and read past issues here

Religious Exploration
Whole Congregation Worship

We all begin in the sanctuary this Sunday for whole congregation worship, then our children and youth will leave after the story for Easter fun. We will have a craft in Fellowship Hall and go outside to hunt for eggs. The youth will hide eggs for the children to find, then the children will hide eggs for the youth to find!

Parents and Caregivers as Sexuality Educators - Next & Last Class is Fri Apr 14
This is the corresponding small group ministry for adults, offering opportunity for adults to recall your own experiences at the age your children are now, and to be intentional about how you would like to support your child as they have questions and strive to make decisions that are healthy for them. Young Voices in Worship

In an initial review of the report from the Self-Assessment Committee, the RE Council noted congregants' interest in having young voices in worship. We think that's a great idea and Rev. Meredith agrees! We are starting by inviting young people to read the chalice lighting and extinguishing words. These dates are open: April 30 and May 14. To volunteer, contact Tracy, cuucwptracy@gmail.com
