Westchester United: Jun 12 Assembly

You are invited to what promises to be a great assembly of several hundred members and friends of Westchester United.

Thu Jun 12
St Gabriel's Catholic Church
120 Division St
New Rochelle, NY
7:00 - Fellowship and Music
7:30 - Meeting begins. (Will last one hour)
"This is a great opportunity for CUC congregants to see what Westchester United is all about. We are considering getting more involved with this organization as part of our Social Action / Social Justice activities. Discussions about how to move ahead with our social action agenda will be happening congregation-wide in the next several months. Stay tuned!"
- Randy Marshall, CUC Board Chair
Communities and residents from throughout Westchester County will come together to stand together and continue our push for:
  • Guaranteed Access to Kindergarten,
  • Local Jobs on Public Works, and
  • Weschester United's Unique Strategy To Reduce Gun Violence.
Westchester United will be celebrating its two new member organizations (Shiloh Baptist Church of New Rochelle, and Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church of Yonkers). And Shiloh Baptist's choir will help open up this Assembly and warm up the room before the meeting begins, so be sure to get there early.

Westchester United will also be welcoming community members from Nodine Hill, Yonkers - a predominantly low income community in Yonkers. This community has invited Westchester United into the neighborhood and raised enough money to hire a Full Time organizer who will be hired and supervised by Westchester United which will work directly with this community initiative!

This event will be taking place towards the end of the legislative session, when most of the bills are passed. It will be a key opportunity for people to come out and show their public support for this event.

About 300 people are expected. Let's add another 100 UUs and make it 400!
